Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Background: 1.) I have the stock brake setup on my 2.7L. 2.) Last week, I used liquid brake cleaner on all 4 discs (Did NOT re-bed the pads, but now I am wondering if I should have). 3.) Have driven the car 2 or 3 times since in the dry, and didn't notice anything good OR bad. Problem: I took it out in the rain today, and the pedal had a very hard feel to it. Question: Did the brake cleaner remove the pad friction film from the discs that gets put on there when the pads/rotors were bedded? Can I simply re-bed the brakes, or do I have to resurface the rotors? Any insight from you brake specialists would be greatly appreciated.

POST 3Original post

Good question - Yes, I've put 20k miles on her in all conditions (dry, wet, snow, etc.). I should have also stated that, while the pedal felt very stiff, the car decelerated as would be expected - now that I say that (type that), the feeling was very similar to losing power brake assistance. I can't imagine that was it, as no errors were thrown.
