Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1Original post

I changed my front brake pads the other day my self.. about 6 hours later my Right rear brake light stops working.. is that a coincidence? also does the dealer cover that (im still under warranty)

POST 2Original post

Probably it is just a coincidence. But without seeing a wiring diagram, I wouldn't know for certain. Generally, brake light operation is controlled from a switch that is activated by brake pressure or pedal movement. However, with ABS, one never can be sure what signal drives what without a schematic. A simple call to the dealership may put your mind at ease. I would just replace the bulb, and consider it fixed, if all else appears fine.
