Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

On my Exige (which had zero rear visibility!) I installed a 'Parking Dynamics' system.
Leading evidence: 'Install 'parking dynamics' system' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Install 'parking dynamics' system' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Cant help wondering why most systems (inc Porsche OEM stuff) use four sensors, the other two being on the corners - my concern is that as they are so central anything towards the edge of the car (bollards etc) would not be picked up?

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Afternoon, I was hoping someone might have some experience on retro fitting parking sensors!
Any thoughts and or advice re Electromagnetic vs Ultrasonic?
Undersatnd that large lumps of metal can interfere with Electromagnetic sesitivity :dont know: which may be a small issue at the back :?:
Would be nice to not have to go cutting holes in the rear PU :saw:
And before the usual comments about ability to park, the answer is yes I can :nooo: but living in central london, and muppet parking means it makes life a little easier.
Any way thanks in advance. :worship:
Have tried both sorts and now use the
JANE
system.
Disadvantage is of course when its raining, as she complains about having to get out of the car.
Sorry

It is mega inexpensive - and it works.

I retrofitted parking sensors for my 2003 carrera. Went for the type that go on your number plate. More discreet and don't have to drill PU bumper. Can't remember brand but cost around £150 from Halfords fitted. Wired to reversing light and small speaker routed into rear cabin. Works from 6 feet and solid beeping by 1 feet. Was worried initially by letting Halfords do the job but watched and had the manual with me for them and no problems . Will try and post pic so you can see the two little sensors at the sides of the new rear number plate surround

Having said that its a neat alternative and far fewer pennies than most alternatives I have seen.
Thanks dzung, seems pretty discrete, as said not too sure about drilling the PU if i can avoid it hence curious about the electromagnetic versions

will speak to the local Halfrauds. :?
Looks great but have you noticed this in their FAQ section :
"Once the PD1 system has completed its full cycle of zones 1, 2, 3 (alert/stop) the system will then need to be reset if you want the alerts again during the same parking manoeuvre."
Knowing my luck I would forgot to resent it and, ouch.

Can't recommend it highly enough, It's totally invisible when installed. has a foil antenna that self adheres to the INSIDE of the rear bumper and gives full un-interupted coverage better than any 4 sensor system.
for about £80 I'd look no further - just noticed they don't list Porsche in their 'models' but they only do one rear and one front kit anyway!

TBH this is not the problem it sounds like as soon as you select reverse you hear an audiable tone letting you know the sensor is armed then going backwards tone - tone - tone until you stop, then in most situations you move the car forward a little anyway before reversing back again which auto re-arms the PD1, I never found it to be an issue.
thanks Mr Simba, think that does it will be ordering shortly and have a go at fitting over the weekend.
Feel a dismantling session coming on what with Grills as well!!!
The parking dynamic system certainly looks good and if I had known about it I may have chosen the electromagnetic system over the ultrasonic system. Saying that I have been happy with the Targa 2 sensor number plate system. Sure not as much coverage as with 4 sensors but I haven't really found it a problem. Got good reviews . Only time it hasn't worked as well for me is heavy fog and heavy rain when it gets confused and beeps solidly
