Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.

0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.

Suggestion

The tec will also check the actuators on the gates and the O ring's on the boost pipes as you could be losing a little bit of boost on either side.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

i've read through the 996 threads regarding potential MAF problems and dirty MAFs, but as this is my first turbo I'd just like to ask. At low speed n revs, sometimes, but enough to notice, when I put my foot down, (Not trying to achieve warp speed here, just to increase speed 'normally such as at when entering a roundabout etc), there is a hesitation, then a momentary lurch which is noticeable, as if things are trying to catch up with the accelerator. I'm not going at speeds or revs fast enough for the turbo to really kick in, and I don't know enough bout turbo lag to say it's that. At higher speeds and revs, ie over 2500 rpm, there is no hesitancy and lurch. Any pointers?, or is this a normal turbo thing?

POST 2Original post

Pete, One of the wastegates may be sticking. You need to get a VAC pump on the wategate tubes and test that both are opening and at the same pressure. A good indy can do it in about 20mins.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Cheers Wiz, Wastegate huh :dont know: There's my, 'Learn something new everyday' item for today !!

POST 4Original post

Another thing to check are the DV's......if they are the orig black Bosch units and they have done >25k miles one or both could be causing "laggyness". How much boost/bar pressure are you getting on the cars on-board computer under full throttle?

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Generally 0.5 Sometimes 0.6 Occasionally 0.7 when over 5000rpm in 3rd

POST 6Original post

Hi PP Sorry for going off topic but I was reading the thread and noticed that you are in Cornwall, I am in ST Ives for the 1/2 term holidays and the weather down this part of the world is absolutely fantastic today.....wish I had bought the Cab.:thumb: need suntan lotion in October ? Is this unusual for this time of year You are a lucky guy living down here :thumb: Sorry can't help with the Turbo issue as don't have one ....sorry

POST 7Original post

hmmm thats a bit low. Have the two thing I mentioned looked at. The tec will also check the actuators on the gates and the O ring's on the boost pipes as you could be losing a little bit of boost on either side. The ones at the bottom of the intercoolers take a lot of pressure at the neck and any little seal leaks will rob one side of boost and give you an imbalance.

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks whiz. Will keep you updated with any findings

POST 9Original post

Hi Pat As the car came from Malton I assume it has their everything covered warranty? If u did have a problem how would it work....being like planets away...just curious as obviously it was a big selling point. Not wishing anything to go wrong, hope I haven't cursed it now! So overall how many years have u taken off your age so far?

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yup. It does have their cover. So they'll either come and collect the car or arrange for someone local to me which is a major selling and comforting factor in going for one of their cars. I just wanted some comment in case it was 'normal' I'm starting to find the power/revs/turbo power band now and having to find a whole new set of driving roads So, in short, luvvin it
