Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Leading evidence: 'Check owners book' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check i'm not being hoodwinked' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. Seems annoying to me, just wanted to check I'm not being hoodwinked!

Option 3 = As option 1 but if doors are opened with the engine running they lock again when speed reaches 3-6 mph.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Apologies all if this seems a dull question!
I picked up car from independent specialist yesterday after having new ACU fitted thanks to water in footwell. Bloody blocked drainage tubes!
All seems fine with car except I have a new feature. When I drive off from standing the central locking comes on? It never did that before? Is this some sort of default setting on unit? That is what garage is saying. Seems annoying to me, just wanted to check I'm not being hoodwinked!
I've just checked my owners book. Page 16 says that "Your OPC can program diverse types of automatic door locking in the control unit of the central locking system"
It gives 4 options. Option 2 is that it locks automatically when a speed of 3-6 mph is exceeded.
Mine does exactly the same, which to be honest I like, especially in some inner city area's when with my old car I would pressing lock button when stopped at lights etc.
Sorry I had to answer the phone.
Paraphrased other options =
Option 1 = doors lock automatically when ignition is switched on.
Option 3 = As option 1 but if doors are opened with the engine running they lock again when speed reaches 3-6 mph.
Option 4 = The doors do not lock automatically.
It doesn't mention any default settings as far as I can see.
It sounds like yours were programmed as Type 4 before but are type 2 now.
I first came across the auto locking feature on US hire cars. Apparently due to the high risk of bag snatchers/ carjacking etc it's a very common feature on many cars over there.
This is the wording from the Technical Service Bulletin:
The automatic door locking feature may be programmed to one of four different modes of operation.
Version 1: Doors lock automatically when the ignition is switched on.
Version 2: Doors lock automatically when a speed of 3 - 6 mph is exceeded.
Version 3: Doors lock automatically when the ignition is switched on. If the doors are opened with the engine running, they will lock automatically when a speed of 3 - 6 mph is exceeded.
Version 4: Doors do not lock automatically.
All vehicles leave the factory programmed to version 4.
The Porsche System Tester is required to change the automatic door locking version.
They may charge you (even though it only takes five mins), it depends how nice your OPC are.
If you are having a service and they are reading the diagnostics data they should really do it for free.
