Water pump's located in the described area - they maybe haven't tightened the hose clips properly after the system was drained to change the coolant?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Help! Just dropped my car off to the OPC to rectify some paintwork and having now returned noticed a 2 inch diameter pool of pink coolant on the garage floor. Temp was normal the 20 miles to the dealer. The engine is 6000 mile 10 mth brand-new Porsche unit - in what ways can the coolant leak? Is there an overflow pipe for instance? The water system wasn't changed when the new engine went in and the cars just had a service including a coolant change. Any help appreciated. Cheers

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The puddle is located just ahead of the rear axle line and off-centre towards the near-side. Cheers

POST 3Original post

The overflow pipe is right at the back by the PU towards the nearside but can run to the other side if car is on a slope. Obvious places to start are header tank, header tank cap, or coolant pipes to radiator

POST 4Original post

Water pump's located in the described area - they maybe haven't tightened the hose clips properly after the system was drained to change the coolant?

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

OPC could not find a leak, and suggested that it was simply from the overflow. Not sure if that makes sense, but I'll stop worrying (until the next unscheduled noise/event!) Cheers

POST 6Original post

WTF does PU stand for?!?! Heard it mentioned loads of times, but never asked yet. :dont know:

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I think it's what everyone else calls the bumper. Have no idea what it stands for though.

POST 8Original post

PU = PolyUrethane, the generic term for the PP/EPDM material used on the bumpers.
