I have an 07 base Cayman. A couple of months ago I got a dashboard warning that my right brake light was out. I bought several bulbs from auto parts stores, one did not work ,and one worked but I still got the dashboard warning. I went to the dealer and replaced it with a factory bulb, this took care of the issue. I recently had my car serviced by an independent and he told me that my rear fog light stayed on all the time, and my left brake light was out. I did not have the dashboard warning about the fog light until they serviced the car. I checked out the brake light, it lights up but not very bright. Now that I have started messing with it I have the dashboard warning for the brake light as well. The service guy told me it may be related to when I had my rear view camera installed. That was nearly four years ago, and I have had no issues until now. I swapped out the bulbs just to see if that would make any difference, it did not. Any suggestions? Update: Looked at it again yesterday, when the parking and or headlights are off the left brake light works but only puts out about 1/3 of the normal light, you can barely tell it's working. When the parking and or headlights are on the rear fog light stays on constantly, and you still barely see the brake light.
