I have read that this could be one of the other wires and this can be tested using a test light or muiltimeter.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all, I have been searching for ages on the forum and have come across some good information regarding stereo changes (double din conversions)however I believe there is one item that is missing which could cause you large problems. Some factory stereos setups don't have an ignition live at the back of the head unit. I have read that this could be one of the other wires and this can be tested using a test light or muiltimeter. The note is that to test the other wires, DO NOT USE A TEST LIGHT TO TEST THE CABLES. I have been told that there is a CAN wire within the radio block and if you use a test light on this wire, you could send a negative pulse through the wire which could cause problems. ALWAYS use a Multimeter! I also notice that with any stereo change, you will need to buy an antenna din adaptor. I am in the process of changing my stereo CD23 (Non Fibre with no amp & standard four speaker system), is there anything else that I need to be aware of? I was hoping that all information and links could be contained within one topic.
