Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suggestion
I do live within 30 mins north of Costco Watford and do have a H&S PSE1 by-pass though, so I think I should check the garage and make sure GT4 is still there
Leading evidence: 'Check garage and make sure gt4 is still there' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check garage and make sure gt4 is still there' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Ive had my led rears on for some time and love them.. but.. as the nights draw in ive been doing more night driving, the other night a few flashes from behind thought nothing of it, then last night when driving home i could se in my rear mirror the reflection from the signs going the other way, if that makes sense ! and boy do they light up, it looks like the rears might be a tad too bright, i compared them with my mates M6 rears and yes mine are brighterm is there a simple way to lower the brightness on the lights, not the brakes i want them super bright, just the normal led night lights ?
anyone else had a issue ?
thanks
martyn
You might want to drop GT4 a line on this as he has the same type as yours, I think? By the way, I thought the LEDs are a great improvement on the orginals in that they light up more attractively and more of the lights are on at night time too. I never liked the the original lighting pattern of the 996's except for the WB models where their lighting pattern is slightly different.

Have you got the 'smoked' or clear rear LEDs ?
I have the smoked ones on mine (the black tint is very slight) and not had the problem you mention.
You can get a tint film on a roll made specifically for darkening or a special spray off a few places on ebay if you wanted to tone them down a little.
Mine were from the porscheshop.
mine are the clears, it might just be me being paranoid , i mean can you have too brighter rear lights ? its not like i get to see them :floor: but i do pity the poor souls behind me if they are piercing'ly bright.. can you offer any advice on how to lower the brightness GT4 ? I wondered about a varaible resistor of some sort... or maybe i will have to give them a light spray with some tinting spray ( god help me ! ) and hope i dont make a boo boo of it.. :?:
You can buy tinting lacquer AFAIK from Halfords etc.
Lots of people use it to create smoke lenses.
If you plan to do this, find a Peugeot, Vauxhall etc forum for advice, they do it all the time. Just whip off lamp cluster, mask the straight intersection beween top and bottom and spray lower section.
Personally, I would ignore them (the flashers
).
AFAIK there is no such thing as too bright (unless you accidentally fit fog bulbs where the brake bulbs go, but the LEDs have a separate incandescent bulb for the fogs).
No, wasn't me.
I'd be surprised if there was another Iris Blue with Aerokit and LEDs.

I think there is an issue, if the brightness is more like having your brake lights on.
Just ignoring people who you are dazzling is just ignorant, if your lights are too bright then sort them out.
Having just seen these - the brake lights (standard halogens) are still brighter than the LED's.
Some cars such as the newer beamers etc do have brighter rear lights with the LED's, but I think these look great - so much so, I'm considering swapping mine out...
Generally, peeps that drive along with the fog lights on, do pi$$ me off, but I think these are fine and wouldn't worry about it..
Why would you want to do that, Lee? Your WB rear lights light up more clearly (and more attractively imo) than the standard 996 fare. Note - on all 996 WB cars, it's 2 segments per cluster that light up whereas it's only one on the NB cars. Also, on the WB one of those segments also serves as the brake light whereas on the NB it's the same segment that has to serve as the brake light too. Why Porsche did it that way for the NB cars I don't know.
Besides, I don't think there are LED tail-light units for the wide bodied 996 cars yet are there?
