I am not to keen to take another 2 days off work and drive another 600km to get it replaced, especially just after I've only had the car back one week.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Okay, this is the last of my posts for the time being addressing each of the remaining issues on my car. I have a minor (yet frustrating) oil leak on the connection from the oil tank to block... see photo. I am not to keen to take another 2 days off work and drive another 600km to get it replaced, especially just after I've only had the car back one week. I have the replacement gasket, so my question is... is this an easy job to replace on a Turbo or is it a struggle given the oil tank appears to be fitted tightly? And if so is it the sort of job you would entrust to a local mechanic or would one not take the chance and take it to a specialist? Cheers Kiwi

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Anyone? with an understanding of how tricky if at all it is to move the oil tank a little to refit the gaskett... please... :dont know:

POST 3Original post

Hi, I just bought a 1996 Nissan 200sx and I believe the previous owner might have put too much oil in it. I have not driven it much yet, maybe about 50 miles since I bought it, but when I turned the car on to listen to the radio and check the lights, I noticed the car started leaking a little bit of oil. Could this do some serious damage to my car? What are the possible causes for this oil leak that only happens when the car is left on? What are some potential solutions that I should try? Thank you all so much for your help!

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just a quick update... a little bit fiddly, but after a short 2 hours... all sorted. O-Ring replaced, new oil and filter... all for less than $500 (About 200 pounds)...
