Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The gear stick doesn't seem to centre itself when putting the car into neutral, which makes it difficult to find third or forth when changing down from fifth or sixth. It didn't feel like anything was catching and it didn't take much force to put it make back in the centre. Does something need lubricating or maybe a spring needs replacing? I haven't driven the car for a couple of weeks because I have been on holiday, but I was having problems down-changing yesterday. Is this something that anyone else has come across? The car is under an OPC warranty so I can get them to have a look when I am next passing.

POST 3Original post

Hi, We recently took our Ford Ka for its brakes pads to be changed and the car came away with the gear stick feeling slightly differently. The gear stick is now very wobbly when in neutral and goes side to side a lot, it also skips 3rd when going from 2nd to 3rd and struggles into 4th when going down from 5th. Any ideas what this may be and how easy it would be to resolve and would it cost much? Thanks
