I posted this over at ******** but figured I'd post here also. My passenger side seatbelt bracket appears to be installed backwards, which indicates to me that the seat was removed at some point. Wonder what would be a typical reason for removing the seat? And also how big of a project would it be to correct this condition? i don't think it's a safety issue as the seatbelt still buckles in, but just an annoying quirk.
I bet it's easier to just remove the console than the seat? But yes, I believe it is backwards (recent photo when I was installing shifter/cables)

Removing the seat is four bolts and a couple cable connections. Ten minutes.
Ahhhh. I didn't know that.
But you should know that I've taken the console out so many times that I wouldn't be too far behind!
I don't know why I assumed removing the seat would be more arduous.

It looks like the bolt is not really easily accessible with the console removed so my vote is to remove the seat. Disconnect the negative battery terminal though as you'll be dealing with air bag connectors.

The bracket is mounted to the seat, so the only option is removing the seat. I figured it would only be a few bolts to remove the seat . . . I just fear that being a
Porsche
nothing is that simple and I'd end up throwing a code, or it would scramble the country's nuclear codes or something!
Re: throwing codes - don't turn the car on with any of the seat connections undone. Not just starting, but turning the key to the "On" position. If you do, it will throw an airbag error that requires a Durametric or similar to clear.
I was thinking a bit further on this. I
think
I should be able to just unbolt the seat and tilt it over to access the seatbelt bolt without disconnecting any connections. Does this sound plausible? Should I disconnect the battery to be safe?
There is enough cable slack to lift the back of the seat about 8 inches.
That's good to know. Sounds like there's enough slack to do it without disconnecting any wires.
