Purchased a used 2015 Cayman 981 S (full PPI and in great shape). Had it a few days now. Started doing some 'tinkering' (swapped side markers) and want to put in an aftermarket backup camera that's on order. I was prepping and looking for the back up light wire (black with blue stripe as I understand from other posts). I found the wire in one of the plug in fixtures in the rear fusebox (passenger rear quarter panel by tail light). I pulled the plug to ID the wire and replaced it firmly back. I have not yet spliced into it (or tapped). Everything put back in place. BUT, when I started the car, I threw a Transmission Failure, stop the car safely code on my multi-function display and the car won't come out of Park. Tried reading ODB-2 (no codes), Disconnected battery, won't reset. shop suggested trying full reset by disconnecting both terminals and bridging the +/- cables for an hour. That reset the radio and most everything else but code for trans and lock still failed. Next stop is the shop but hoped someone may know how to reset the code before incurring the $$$. Thanks in advance.

That is strange... I did the backup camera tap to that wire. But without disconnecting it. No problems whatsoever. The only thing I can suggest - is recheck everything you disconnected... The transmission probably have some failsafe mechanism, that only dealer can reset now
