Hoping you guys have the answer for this one. Recently picked up an 07
Cayman S
for my Dad. When opening the driver's side door, the window will auto roll down a bit just fine. When closing it though it won't roll back up. Same with the full auto roll up, I have to hold the window switch up the whole time it rolls up to the top. Auto down works fine. So I replaced the 3 things, the window switch on the inside, the door latch and the microswitch off the handle. Still have the same problem. I've tried the whole reset process of holding the button all the way up then down for 10 seconds each. Still doesn't resolve it. Help! Anyone else able to resolve this issue?
Hi there
spyder
.
I currently have the same problem.
Just wondering if you ever figured out the problem and how it was solved?
Thanks
I reported this issue many times. My driver side window will sometimes not go up the the small auto distance when closing the door. It drops down fine, but will not return closed unless I move the switch manually. My passenger window when opening just half way and later trying to close it, will go all the way down before going back up. Look for the old threads titled "window ghosts" there are many reports of window issues. More

For the reset - try this: roll all the way down and hold for 20 seconds. Release and then momentarily press the button DOWN again. Do the same for the up position. I believe it needs the 2nd press to store the setting.
One other thing if you have a good
Porsche
diagnostics tool would be to look at the "state" of all the switches involving the door and latching. Good tools let you look at inputs to the modules - and you could see if a switch wasn't working or was working - way cheaper than troubleshooting by replacing parts. I'd suggest the

module - it has excellent coverage for the 987 series cars -- and it's cheap ($160 or so shipped..)
I did the momentary rest per the manual but I will give it another shot using your advice. The tool you mention sounds like a good thing to have for this and other anomalies.
