Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Thus, you will need to test the system for leaks and then test each component to find the root cause of the fault.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well I had a CEL come on and found code P0455. I tried a new gas cap and cleared the code but it came back on about 100 miles later. What should I try next? Also, where is the canister purge valve located? Thank. Ernie

This code says that there is a large leak in the EVAP system. Unfortunately, the code doesn't provide any more detail about exactly what might be leaking. Thus, you will need to test the system for leaks and then test each component to find the root cause of the fault. It is located in the passenger side front wheel well at the top of the carbon canister. You have to remove the wheel and then the inner wheel liner to see it.
