The bolts were a bit of a nightmare to get off and had to be replaced also, but other than that it didnt seem too hard to replace.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • 911uk: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I need to change one of these as the bushing is falling to bits and was noted as an advisory. I mean the parts shown as part 8 in this diagram if you click on the 'zoom in' of the part picture... http://www.design911.co.uk/fu/prod3966/Control-Arm-Top-Rear-Porsche-996---997-99733104701/ It looks like a new one is just a 'simple' swap & bolt in... am I correct?

POST 2Original post

I just had both of those changed on my 997 as the bushes had gone in my old ones. For once I didnt do it myself and had Centre Gravity do it as part of my suspension setup. The bolts were a bit of a nightmare to get off and had to be replaced also, but other than that it didnt seem too hard to replace.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Cheers- I thought the bolts might be problematic. Will give it a go anyway with my anti seize spray

POST 4Original post

The bolts dont normally sieze like coffin arm ones so it should be straight forward . I will say that these dont often fail .. pry bar and check for movement first is the best way forward .. they might look bad but if no play then they are fine . You will get a small amount of bush flex on checking though .

POST 5Original post

One of these on my car had the bush split... I replaced all of them at the time with low mileage arms from a 997. Bolts were no problem. FYI CP4L are doing CTE brand replacements for £47 (use cp-475-ye for 15% off that).

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Wasz I have a CTE one in my basket... will use your code. Need a window regulator too, it's never ending.
