Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.

0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.

Suggestion

(I am still puzzled by Road & Track's test results compared to the Cayman S which is stiffer, etc.)

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

What did you decide to do after the dealer or Porsche messed up your order? We all want to know.

POST 2Original post

Santa Fe, I was going to reply under the original thread until I saw this thread. Yesterday the original dealer called and said they could modify a production slot which begins in February which would probably mean a late March or early April delivery. In addition, they were still working with Porsche on something better but would not know until late today (yesterday) or tomorrow. By this time I had located a Boxster S in the same color combination with almost the same options. It lacked TPMS but added SC. So my wife and I had lunch and discussed the alternatives: not a bad choice to have. The Boxster passed her luggage and top-down closed-in feeling criteria. I decided in the Boxster S because of the open air opportunities driving along the Blue Ridge Parkway and environs. I figured I gave up some straight line performance and maybe some handling performance as well. (I am still puzzled by Road & Track's test results compared to the Cayman S which is stiffer, etc.) K-Man-S, congrats on your car and son! May I still belong to this wonderful site even though I opted for the Boxster? I would miss all of my new friends if I leave! At least many of the options are the same and I promise to learn all there is to learn about the PCM!! Ruby

POST 3Original post

Good thinking Ruby, Please stay around and give us feedback on your Boxster enjoyment.

POST 4Original post

You can't go wrong between a Boxster S and a Cayman S. It definitely comes down to whether you want a drop top or a coupe. The handling is amazing with either car and acceleration is very close. Could the R&T results come from the lower center of gravity of the Boxster S? While the Boxster S is a very stiff convertible, I just ordered a front strut brace from Racing Dynamics for my 987S. I figure it couldn't hurt to reduce the gap in structural rigidity between the two cars. I'm interested in seeing if I can feel a difference.
