Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Hello everybody, I have a 2008 Cayman S -- Which I love. I plan to keep her for another 2 or 3 years. Lately, she is really expensive. Last year, I spent $3k for all the liquid/filter changes (the 30K mile big service). Then I had a headliner Failure, and one of the handles broke (few other $Ks), etc. Now I took the car to the dealer and they told me as follows: "the noise coming from the rear is rear boot contact patches they cost $202.88 to replace. Also, you desperately need front bump stops $906.00, engine carrier mount $787.71, and an alignment which has to be done for state inspection. " I have no idea what rear boot contact patches are, but there is a very metallic squawking sound coming from the back of my car laterly -- so I will go for it. What do you think about front bump and engine carrier mount-- are they really needed? Are these prices reasonable? I would ask for a second opinion, but I live in a small city in Virginia and there are no indy mechanics specialized on Porsche that I know -- I would need to drive one hour to the next city (Richmond) to find some people there and I do not want to lose so much time. thanks!
