I replaced both the coils and serpentine belt early on my 911 when the miles started getting up there; not much additional cost for the extra peace of mind, and I expect it didn't hurt when I sold it that maintenance was done early.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

I'm soon to be tackling some of the 60K service items and figured I'd replace the plugs while I'm getting my hands dirty. Although they are not due until the 80K service, the maintenance manual does say 80K or every 4 years, and I'll be just shy of four years. Should I go ahead and replace the ignition coils while I'm down there? Thanks for the insights! Mike
