My car is currently in a garage for both front ABS rings, one rear ABS ring and the engine mounts to be changed. I have supplied the parts to the garage - ABS rings supplied by UK Parts Direct Ltd and 993/964 RS 'semi-solid' engine mount kit supplied by Type911 (along with longer bolts). The garage have called to say that the front ABS rings appear the wrong diameter for the front driveshaft (they are the same size as the rear ABS ring that was supplied) and also that the engine mounts won't fit as "the originals have 4 inches of moulded rubber which the new ones don't have"... So, can anyone tell me whether the front and rear ABS rings should be the same size? Also, has anyone ever come across a problem like this when fitting the 993/964 RS engine mounts to a 996? Any idea what the garage might be referring to? Any help greatly appreciated! (should say Type911 have been helpful thus far, supplying the longer bolts and diagrams etc.).

I always was under the impression the 993rs mounts although a different shape were plug and play all you needed were the longer bolts , they are similr in shape to the rss SEMI SOLIDS and are shallower than the stock ones but the mounting points should all line up. :thumb:

Thanks for the input chaps. Yes I started that thread, that's how I learned of the 993/964 RS mounts. I thought I'd have them fitted while the car was in for the ABS rings. Now that I've forwarded the diagrams Type911 sent the garage appear to know what they're doing, so all is well in that regard. :thumb:
