Check out my recent oil analysis. This is with ~14,600 miles on the car and ~2,600 miles on the oil. The oil is M1 0W-40. I want to see if anyone has any comments on it, after that, I'll post what Blackstone had to say.
Hey at least you had oil to analyze !
. Can't see results on my phone ATM ,
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk which means I'm probably traveling at the moment so please excuse any brief or hurried replies, spelling errors, etc. Etc.
Yes, oil in my engine is a good think and I'd like to keep it that way!
Perhaps you can see this on your phone?

Odd. That flashpoint is really low, and fuel in the oil is high. Why did you sample or change your oil at about 2500 miles?
Any track days on this oil? Can't say I've seen a fuel number that high with so few miles.
IIRC, M1 0W-40 viscosity @ 100c is 14.1, so this has lost a significant amount in a short amount of time.
I'm curious about the fuel myself. Shouldn't fuel evaporate after a long drive? My commute is about 30-40 minutes. I only take the Cayman once or twice a week. Shouldn't that be enough to evaporate fuel?
I wonder if the engine still breaking in (rings not seating) is the source of the fuel? And this will decrease as the rings continue to seat?
so what does blackstone have to say? inquiring minds want to know...
I guess I've kept you in suspense long enough....
Too much fuel in the oil and hence lower flash point - do you drive lots of short trips that don't let oil really heat up?
Sometimes I run short errands on the weekend. The temp gauge shows fully warmed up, but not for a very long time. My work commute is about 30 to 40 minutes each way. I usually use this car once or twice a week. I haven't had a drive longer than that in some time (I'm due!).
Thanks for posting your specific numbers. I saved a bit of oil in a clean container from my last oil change and still intend to get it analyzed.
Does anyone know the difference in formulation between the old Castrol Syntec and the new Castrol Edge?
