Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

12 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Planet-9: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1Original post

I bought the car last week and noticed it has version 1.40 on the PCM . Talking to OPC and for £150(UK) they said I could update to the latest firmware and maps. Not bad, so I headed down this morning to do just that... 3 hours later and they have managed to get the firmware in (now 1.47) but they could not get maps on. They've referred back to Porsche to see what they are doing wrong. A shame - but the car was washed for free and they fixed a couple of pother small niggles whilst I was there... Anyone else had issues getting a PCM3.0 updated with new maps? /R

POST 2Original post

Firmware does not include maps, firmware is done with PIWIS system. Maps I believe are DVD load.

POST 3Original post

Yip - the firmware was no issue - just loading the latest maps from DVD afterwards...

POST 4Original post

They are now saying get have put the firmware to a 2014 version but do not have install codes for 2014 maps. They are going to take my car and try to get the maps from a newer car and install on mine... All seems a bit odd... New cars are PCM4 so surely different... Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk

POST 5Original post

So, they've done it. Maps now look just like those in new 2014 cars. But version is now 2.23 instead of 1.47. Quite a jump Sent from my Nexus 5

POST 6Original post

Obviously the map data is updated, but are you saying that the interface looks different, too? If so, what else (besides the updated basemap) is changed?

POST 7Original post

Most screens and options are the same. Maps much sharper and look different. I think there are different options in map mode... Oh and 6 digit postcodes instead of 4 (uk). Sent from my Nexus 5

POST 8Original post

Thanks for the feedback! Been wondering whether the update was worth it on my '11 model. I'm going to check and see what version my firmware is and ask about that, too, the next time I'm at the dealer for service.

POST 11Original post

In case it helps anybody out there, the 2012 PCM 2.1 Nav update for Europe is Porsche part number 997.044.903.50. Cheers!

POST 12Original post

Quick question... New owner here. It was my understanding that they made a change from Disk Nav to Hard Drive Nav? True? I think I have 2.1..
