Suggestion

Use a flathead on the front edge to pry out the assembly, it should not require a lot of force since it sits in the fabric liner material, but take your time just in case.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

This part 2 covers the replacement of the glove box and trunk lights. CAUTION - the OEM bulbs are very hot, let them cool before handling them. To be on the safe side disconnect the battery or undo the wire harness before removing/installing bulbs. The front and rear trunk lights are 42mm (1.75") 4 SMD LED's. They have the built in error free resistor. The light housing comes out easily, pry them with a flathead, using the notch in the assembly, noted below. Frunk replacement is shown and the rear trunk light assembly is pryed out on the right side, follow the same procedure. The glove box is a W5W OEM bulb, replaced with a 5-SMD T10 LED. Use a flathead on the front edge to pry out the assembly, it should not require a lot of force since it sits in the fabric liner material, but take your time just in case. Disengage the wiring harness from the assembly by squeezing the black tabs on the end of the assembly. I then used a small flathead screwdriver to pry the metal cover off the light asembly. You can bend the metal back into place easily for re-assembly. Replace the bulb, make sure it lights, re-install the metal cover, then re-connect the wire harness to the light assembly. Insert the connected light assembly back end first, then engage the front in place.

POST 2Original post

Thanks for the info. Just wanted to add the metal cage bends rather easily. The two exposed ears are easy to bend but the sides without ears take a bit more patience. Alternate working each side downwards - getting one side further down actually causes the opposing side to pinch harder against the plastic lens.

POST 3Original post

I have a problem with feet light on driver side. How did u take it out? on passengers side it is easy but on the driver side I can not push it up and not push down. Thanks
