Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

As many of us have probably come across, whilst sorting out my sills a few of the studs that hold the various plastic undertrays and covers on snapped off so I thought I'd do a post on how I fixed them using rivnuts.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

As many of us have probably come across, whilst sorting out my sills a few of the studs that hold the various plastic undertrays and covers on snapped off so I thought I'd do a post on how I fixed them using rivnuts. that blob in the middle used to be a stud like the one below I ground the remaining bit flush with the body, I then drilled a 9mm hole where the stud used to be. I then got one of these useful bits, a rivnut (the one pictured is an m8 I used m6 ones for this job) this is the rivnut fixing tool, it's not too different to a normal rivet gun fitted in place as you can see you can now use a m6 bolt to hold the undertray in place. hopefully this will be useful to somebody Chris

POST 3Original post

Great, theres some of these in my dads garage. I decided to grind mine back flat and glue some stainless bolts to mine: http://911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=124928&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=120

Great info Thom! It'll definitely help anyone tackling their wheel arch areas. :thumb:

POST 5Original post

I used weld studs on mine. It's kind of a pain using a wire-feed welder but it can be done 8) Sorry no photo's... Obviously, depending on where the stud is and where the car is, a welder isn't always appropriate - these other options are nice! :thumb:
