i managed to install my dension within 20 minutes - easy but now 2 hours later i'm ready to throw the infuriating thing in the bin as i CANNOT get it to display text. just says track 1, track 2 etc and i can only get it to work using the clicker circle thing on the ipod which would be fine if that wasn't in the front boot of the car. i've read through the configuration guides on here and they advise me to toggle the switch 6 times to get into the menu, fine but once i'm in there i only have paging and select - the last 2 options! i don't have no text, text, cache etc so i CANNOT configure this thing at all. honestly i'm at my wits end and am really seriously going to just rip the damn thing out. sound quality's good but i don't want to randomly shuffle through 16GB of music! any help you can give me would be excellent cos currently i'm so pi55ed off i can hardly type this thanks ninja

I've had times where it will say Track 1, etc. but if I let that song play then when it goes to the next song the next song will display the title and artist, etc. I just assumed it was some sort of bug, but it clears up after the first song, at least on my unit anyway... have you tried letting the song play all the way through and then go to the next song on its own?

yeah i went for a drive to blow off some steam and let 6 or 7 tracks play but none of them came up with the track title, just track 1, 2, etc. i'm totally lost man. ninja

I have a 06 with the CDR-24 I guess, don't even really know. No PCM . I have an after market XM radio and the IPOD integrated through the dension. It only displays something likecd 5 track 99 and never changes. I do everything through playlists on my iPod . My iPod is in the center console storage bin.

if i'd known that i wouldn't get the play lists on the PCM display i wouldn't have bothered buying it. can't believe this is how it's supposed to be. someone's bound to know how to configure this..... ninja

It DOES show playlists on the PCM , along with Artists, Titles, Albums, etc. a lot of stuff you can choose from. It sounds to me like something isn't configured/installed correctly with your unit, or you have a defective unit. Have you tried Dension support?

i bought it from eric at bumperplugs once i updated the firmware it worked fine, was very easy to update the firmware and a search on there told me where to look for the update. i just assumed that dension would send the unit out with the most up to date version of firmware or at least with one that actually worked. having said all that, it's working very well now and i'm very pleased i bought it as i was really starting to miss my ipod ! ninja
