I thought about that, but after inspecting the area I don't see any electronics/mechanics that would be significantly affected.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Just installed my Sirius Dot Micro antenna on the plastic windshield cowl. Given my penchant for 100% reversible mods, I came up with a pretty easy solution for mounting the antenna without sticky/messy double sided tape, glue, or epoxy. 1. Buy a 1.5" diameter rare earth magnet from your local electronics shop. I bought a pack of 4 off eBay for a few dollars. WARNING - these things are extremely strong! Each magnet of this size has an approximate pulling force of 35-40lb, so be careful not to pinch your fingers or other extremities when handling them, and keep them away from computers, TVs, or magnetic media! 2. Open the hood and position the antenna where you want it. Then slip the magnet underneath the cowl until it sandwiches the plastic cowl between it and the antenna (red arrow). The magnet will be strong enough that the antenna will be held in place and nothing, including firm pulling, should dislodge it. Even if someone manages to pull the antenna off the cowl, the magnet will just fall down and attach itself to the metal frame of the car, where it is easily recoverable. Here's a photo with the hood closed: Probably one of the simplest mounting solutions ever, and totally reversible!

Nice idea, I don't suppose there is any chance of interference with the Cayman's computers and electronics in that location? I have reported seeing front license plates attached similarly.

POST 3Original post

I thought about that, but after inspecting the area I don't see any electronics/mechanics that would be significantly affected. The only part that's under the cowl in that area is the windshield wiper arm.
