On my left hand drive US car, I found that one of the rubber grommets used for other wiring on the drivers side was easiest to get to inside the car.

Suggestion

Although the 4 gauge will be overkill for a active sub which could probably use 16 or 8.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

can anyone help me figure out the best way to run a positive from the battery into the cabin, specifically to the rear trunk. I need a 4 gauge thick power cable directly from the battery going to the rear trunk. thanks in advance.

POST 2Original post

On my left hand drive US car, I found that one of the rubber grommets used for other wiring on the drivers side was easiest to get to inside the car. I think one of the how to articles on this site describes it. You might want to look through them. Dave

POST 3Original post

I can't help with the cable routing, but I'm awfully curious - what are you going to feed with a 4 gauge cable? My wire charts (US) indicate that 4 gauge is good for currents in the 100 amp range.

POST 4Original post

You'll find an empty rubber plug behind the battery on the drivers side. You have to pull the battery to get to it. BTW, my amps are in the front so I didn't have to run it to the back.

POST 5Original post

Still deciding on whether i want to feed an amp in the rear trunk..or a Active Sub, either way i'm going to need a power supply. I just figured 4 gauge cable will cover both my scenarios because if i go the amp route.....its going to be driving alot of current...giving out 1200watts RMS and powering a sub which can take upto 2000watts RMS. Then i also plan to tap into this to feed another 2 amps. Although the 4 gauge will be overkill for a active sub which could probably use 16 or 8. Firstly though, i just need to find a way the wire could potentially go.

POST 6Original post

No code required. You will get some error messages that will clear with a short drive. Search for battery replacement for more.
