Hello, I am a new member from the BMW Community which there are many interchangeable racks between models with several ratios. I am wondering how is the best way to increase the steering ratio on this car, I feel the steering is pretty slow. This question is about 996 model cars. Could I use a right hand 993 rack? Is there is rack builder out there? Thank you!

I wanted to know if anyone ont he forum had encountered a problem with their Steering Racks, especially on a low mileage car. My car currently has 29k miles and there is a loud popping noise coming from the rack when the car is under load. I am thinking it could be either the internal valves, or possibly the elbow inside the boots have become stressed. I would appreciate any insight on this issue the forum could give me. Thanks Kyle
