Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

What ever you do don't anybody run H&R springs with stock shocks.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hello Group,
I want to lower my 996 and tighten up the car a little bit at the same time. I like the ride just need to turn it up one small notch. The car is used for daily driving on a variation of road surfaces. SF bay area
The question:
Will H&R springs be okay with standard shocks? will it be oversprung. Or do I need a set of euro M030 shocks that are slightly stiffer and designed for that ride height??
Coilovers???
Thanks everyone for your input!!!!
-George
If you already have US M030 shocks, you can lower the car with H&R springs. If you don't have the M030 setup, do not lower your car with any aftermarket spring. They are too soft and will cause a harsh ride and bottoming. Consider changing all parts to ROW M030 or H&R coilovers. I would go for the latter for ride height adjustment and a slightly more aggressive handling.
If you are a warranty issue psycho like I am, get the original Porsche Euro M030 from
www.carnewal.com.
This way, if PCNA won't honor your warranty, you can call PAG and have your own little war....I am going to order mine from Gert next week, and having a motorsport guru install them for me. Not a do-it-yourselfer.
FWIW, the warranty issues apply to any aftermarket product including Porsche parts which were not intended for the particular model sold in a given country. However, in the US the manufacturer has no right to void any part or all warranty unless they can prove that a said problem was created by a certain modification by the owner.

I drive a '99 C2. I started off with the H&R springs which lowered the ride height by about 1.5 inches. I keep the standard shocks at the time (bad advice). Anyways, didn't take long to realize that I had absolutely NO shock travel in the rear and hardly any in the front. Had the shocks changed to the Euro shocks which are about 3/4 inch shorter than stock which in turn gave me more shock travel both from and rear. Don't forget to install/change the bump stops.

Warning!!! What ever you do don't anybody run H&R springs with stock shocks. Just have my car done in this configuration and its horrible. Car floats at high speed. Doesn't handle as confidently around corners (slightly jiddery) .The shocks bottom out giving you a back and forth rocking motion when hitting bumps at high speed when the car is hunkers down. Will use euro M030 shocks shortly let you guys know what happens
