Howdy all,
I'm in the process of ordering a used '06 Red Cayman S. I saw one locally that had the aluminum-look package and the side intake grilles look really nice in that matte silver with the red.
Problem is that you can only get those side grilles as part of an aluminum-look package that includes the front grilles (below the fog lights) and the lower arm of the exterior mirrors. That package sells for $1684.55 as quoted by my local Porsche dealer.
So, anyone know where I might find the side grilles alone at less expense? Barring that, anyone in the Austin, TX, area know a shop you would trust to remove and re-paint the existing grilles? Or maybe somebody out there has the aluminum look grilles and has been hankerin' to replace them with red ones - I'd be up for a trade

Just found exactly what I'll need at the bumperplugs.com site. Just $279 + shipping with core exchange (I send back my original red intakes after installing the new aluminum look intakes). That's a lot better than $1684.55 from the dealer for extra parts I don't want!

Hi - yes, you (or one of your associates) took me for a test drive in that CS. It's a great car. The one I found is similar, but has PCM and the multi-function steering wheel as well for a bit less money (and ~9500 additional miles, but it's "Porsche Approved Certified Pre-owned"). And, I know this is being anal, but I wasn't that crazy about the aluminum look front grilles or exterior mirror arms - just the side vents.
So yours is a good deal for sure, but this one just fit what I was looking for a little better. I really appreciate the friendly and professional service I got on the test drives at Roger Beasley Porsche here in Austin. I'm sure I'll be giving the parts and service departments there my business soon - possibly to get these new vents installed depending on how hard it is to swap them out.
Caytex, did you ever do this mod? If so will you send email or post some pictures of your car?
You should also call jason at Tischer porsche, there is a 15% discount the the regular prices always seem to be alot lower than other dealers. I guess they push out mad volume and can give such a deep discount. [phone removed] tell Jason Eduardo said Hi.
