Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I purchased your car from Sutton Coldfield OPC with about 12k on the clock and traded it 4.5 years later at 36k IIRC, check your Service book to see if it was serviced by Porsche Solihul between 2012 & 2016

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I’ve just bought this car which is in great condition & fairly low mileage for a 2009. But it wasn’t till I’d left the car dealer & was driving home that I noticed that the rear spoiler wasn’t rising & lowering as it should do. On closer inspection it became apparent that the wing on this car is a fixed one.
The dealer claims it’s part of the aero kit. Was just wondering if anybody could enlighten me on this.
Difficult to see from that photo angle. Can you post more pics and the option codes on the car?
The struts fail with age so it could be they have failed. Can you see the strut actuators from inside the boot lid

The dealers correct, same as the 996 Aerokit rear spoiler - its fixed. One less thing to go wrong, as pointed out the struts fail.
Agree. As a 996TT owner I can confirm it's a bullet dodged.
Looks like the genuine article. The front splitter should be different also - slightly more protruding than normal.
Its a nice rare option and makes the turbo look even better in my opinion (but I’m biased)
I have a rear decklid in black with the normal electric spoiler if you like. PM me happy to do a deal for £600 and or even swap. I like the fixed spoiler better. Mine goes up at 75mph.

That looks like my old car albeit i could be mistaken, traded it in back in 2016 for a 991.1 TTS at Edinburgh OPC.

Could be, I actually bought it in June 2017.. plate ending VDF, manual, 41k miles..
I believe it was my old car

I also have a 1.5, no aerokit AFAIK. The rear spoiler is a lifty-uppy model, and looks flatter on top than yours and doesn't protrude so far back. The front splitter is vertically flat to the rest of the front, it doesn't have the protruding beak of yours.
Doesn't mean it's not genuine. What are the build codes on the body sticker?

How was the experience of moving to the newer turbo?
It was just the next evolution of an already brilliant car. The only thing I didn’t like on the 997TT was the terribly short 1st gear, other than that I regret selling it as it would have been pretty much free motoring for the last 5 years

The wheels were refurbed by Exel not long before I traded it

Yes, its definitely your old car. 1st gear indeed very tricky, but the manual gearbox paired with that engine just adds so much character - iffy 1st, followed by a shift to 2nd and then 3rd with the mountain of power/torque/traction each shift up is just incredible.
Sadly, I sold it in 2020 after 3 years of great experiences, including driving it to Florence, Italy.
Great, great car.
Wow!
Great to see it again to be honest. Who’s the lucky new owner? On here??
Seeing it again did make me do a quick search on OPC network to see what’s available in regards to the 997TT, but alas nothing that is similar.

New owner acquired it through RPM Tec, but is unknown to me. I would definitely get another too!
OP, apologies for derailment - you have two future interested parties should you ever wish part ways with your lovely 1.5
Also post some more pics pls!

This is cool, great to see the history unfold. Looks like you traded up very nicely since then too.

Wow! Incredible to find the first owner of VDF. Got to love PH. Welcome btw
How does the gt3 compare to the old steed?

Thank you!
Loved the 997 turbo
At the time it was my only car
A do it all, all weather super car.
Gt3 more of a weekend toy now that I’m fortunate to have a pick at daily drivers.
Both being manual the performance was similar, gt3 obviously more visceral.
I did have a miltek exhaust fitted to the turbo shortly after purchase as I found it too quiet

I preferred the stealth approach
Thanks for your replies. The car has gone back to the dealer as the rear parking sensors aren’t working & I noticed a small oil leak from the rear end.

Looks lovely Neil, please straighten that rear plate up though
I will make sure the reg plate is straightened up once I get the car back. The dealer put it on a trailer last Thursday to sort out some bits. Hopefully get it back in the not too distant future ☹️
