Base dyno was done back in April and I finally got around to doing cat back exhaust, desnork and EVO intake.
Let me first start off by saying the the numbers shown on the dyno's are low from what you normally see the CS putting down. This particular tuner does not do the corrections that most do. This dyno is uses primarly as a tool for measuring progression. It is nicknamed the "Heartbreaker".
So, here is the base dyno from back in April (btw, temperature was about the same for both runs). The torque is missing from the first dyno for reasons I do not know.
Here is the dyno from today with Fabspeed Maxflow cat back exhaust, EVO intake and desnork.
Congrats looks like good numbers on the Heartbreaker, that an easy 280+ on a dyno jet.
The reason you are not getting torque values is becuase he is using the dyno in "shootout mode" There is nothing he can do to manupulate setting to the dyno. Bottom line its what your car is making hands down with no corrections.
That's really odd because here's my first dyno run at Sharif's with only EVO intake and de-snork. Outside temperatures during my run were right around 90-93 degrees. I must have a factory freak or something
Either that or the catback is not doing much, but making it sound o so sweet!
I know of a guy that put down 395 on a dyno jet and several weeks later put down 358 on the Heartbreaker.
A dyno is a tool, so I get apples from mine where you may get oranges.
exhaust on N/A car gains are really minimal.
Do you drive an automatic?
How come the first dyno did 3 runs, the second dyno, 1 run, and says run 6? What happened to runs 1-5?
Also dyno runs are somewhat dependent on humidity / air density etc. Different day, different season, different weather, means different power.
Hopefully done in the same gear (I will assume yes).
Since TheYoungN's run and Chops 2nd run look the same that makes me suspicious of the dyno changing sometime between April and July.
Thats the thing I like about getting a car dynoed with no corrections, it tells you what the car is making that day, as temp, Baro, size the of the fan, if the car is heat so ect.. do make a little diffrence when you dyno. When the dyno operator starts inputing corrections for this and that i.e. altitude.. Then IMO you really dont know the real true HP your car is making.
So how much did 20 extra RWHP cost and is it worth it?
The cat back was done for sound and looks. I really didn't like the stock tips and for the cost of tips alone you are 1/3 on your way to a cat back.
I giggle now when I'm shifting gears! I think the sound is perfect.
So the cost was about $1800 for catback, intake and install labor.
I'm done with hp mods (maybe), I think what's next in line are track wheels and tires or coilovers, maybe vice versa.
