Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

a guy posted on here that after a year or so milltek headers will cause you a lot of problems........................... ??? first i would like to know what kind of problems have occured and if anyone is familiar with them... also i did some searching and found some other header that is suppose to be a lot better then milltek... it is called graphics or something along that line.... i don't think that there are any dyno numbers or anything because K-Man called him out on the whole thing and nothing was said after that (im new and i see that k-man is very well "tuned" with the CS).... anyway that is the header question(s) the evo intake is good... but is it really better then a K&N drop in?.... or even a GREEN drop in filter (Green is a company that is really doing well... actually proved some higher numbers then K&N, but that is besides the point) now for cat-back the best one (hp gain/sound size) i am aware that it is a milltek or AWE.... now i am pretty familiar with AWE because i believe that they make a nice exhaust for the CTS-V, but if milltek has the same problems as they do/did with there header.... it would be better to go AWE or.....? now for the flash/ecu..... after i put on my headers.... intake.... cat-back.... what is the best flash i can do... everyone is talking about the snap ( even K-Man said he liked it better then all of the rest of them) ..... but what is truely the most proven/best way to flash the car? ~Steveo

POST 2Original post

also would like to mention i do not have the car.... i am really interested in buying it, but before i do i want to get all what to do and not to do cleared up ~also another thing i am going to do is a short shifter..... because i wont be producing that much horsepower where a short-shifter would actually hurt your driveline.... K-Man said that there is some new factory stock short shifter for $400 that works really great, but is better then the rest of them?... i know B&M makes one, and i trust B&M but i just dont like that fact that a B&M makes short-shifters for everything and anything lol... i would rather have some german quality precision metal etc etc etc ~Steveo

POST 3Original post

I just got the APR software, they also offer it in a trial of 6hrs driving time at no cost. You should check it out. I havent dynoed yet, I am impressed so far. APR - Engineered Performance for Audi, Volkswagen, and Porsche Vehicles

POST 4Original post

thank you, i already checked it out.... matter fact i read your thread about the subject you sound real happy with the purchase and i'm happy for you.... i myself might also go that route, but would need some numbers... so when you get *her* dyno'd make sure to post up some results, i will most def. be waiting for your results..... good luck and thank you  ~Steveo

POST 5Original post

BTW I don't call people out, I just ask for them to produce the same type of information that I would want anyone to produce here when talking about mods. How much they cost, how easy/difficult to install, dyno numbers if applicable, etc. AFAIK Milltek's new headers have not been a problem, only the older ones, but I don't know how many people have the newer ones.

POST 6Original post

how do you know that there new headers are not a problem..... there new right? also what would you recommend for a ecu/flash for the car ---BTW i did not mean that you called him out in a negative way... you were very polite and precise with your comment... thought i would clear that up for you:beer:

POST 7Original post

I don't know for certain that Milltek's "new" header design has no problems. So far no problems have been reported by any of our members who have replacement sets of the new design. That's about the best you can do at this point. There are a variety of flashes available from sponsors GIAC, Softronic, REVO and APR to name a few. Each is different so it really depends on what YOU are looking for. What is right for me might not be right for you. I am currently running the Softronic flash in my car.

POST 8Original post

New milltek exhaust. Milltek changed the Muffler design as well, I got the new ones. The muffler is in 2 pieces now. It clamps together under the muffler. You can see it in the pic. The headers are the same, just the Cells/matrix are different. I know the tips are not level, I am getting another exhaust installed tomorrow for the dyno.

POST 9Original post

Ummm if you are changing out exhausts and ECU tuning at the same time there isn't going to be any way to tell if your dyno numbers are related more to one, the other or both, or are you planning to take your car on and off the dyno after each change? I think you said you did a dyno run for the before numbers the other day didn't you? If you didn't then what will be the baseline? I'm not trying to give you a hard time, just trying to understand the logic/process for what you are going to test on the dyno so it gets reported accurately.

POST 10Original post

The Benefit of the APR software is that I can change from chipped to stock in a matter of seconds. The exhaust will be put on B4 the dyno and run at stock settings. Then I will change the program to 93 and run to see the HP increase. The same exhaust will be on the car for both runs.

POST 11Original post

Stock is not exactly stock , while it may perform as stock it is actually still an altered program.
