This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

12 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • 911uk: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Tips/tricks welcome, I've 1 wheel bolt that won't undo, it does turn but then goes lose and tight again, I think it's cross threaded 😡 Any advice welcome for removal.

POST 2Original post

Thread is most certainly stripped. They are a devil to get out. Where are you? As you could get it to my factory and I may be able to do it.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the offer Tobyone, bit of patience i managed to remove the bolt, threads flattened, may need to either helicoil or get a new hub now, as the hub thread is damaged, inevitable i guess.

POST 4Original post

Good to hear its out. Well if your midlands way I will helicoil it for you for free Or if not post me your hub.

POST 12Original post

Usually its the bolt that is damaged but it leaves the swarf from the stripped thread blocking on the hub thread. It is unlikely to need a helicoil but worth using a tap and die set for teh replacement bolt to go in smoothly and not repeat the issue. KurlyKris on here had this sort of issue and has a tap and die for this. He's closeby in Bedworth, perhaps drop him a PM.
