POST 1Original post

are they good? any sugestions on what muffler should i get.. i haven't do any research yet.. but i like the kreissieg f1 muffler. they are just too expensive for me tho. they are priced almost 6k

POST 2Original post

Remus sounds great...I just heard one on a CS for the first time and it sounds GREAT!

POST 3Original post

Hi, StatiX. I don't have any info on the Remus exhaust, sorry. But I do have this photo of their Cayman S solution: Snaxster

POST 4Original post

I would suggest that you start with the ARTICLES section here that has installation and performance articles on the following exhaust systems: Milltek AWE Fabspeed All three of those have been proven to improve performance and are backed by sponsors of this site.

POST 5Original post

ah ok ! thx ^^ i still can't acsess AWE's sound clip... where else can i get it beside from awe website?

POST 6Original post

haha remus is cheap .. but i don't really know how they sounds.. but remus kit is only around 1400?? if i'm not wrong... its for sure below 2000

POST 7Original post

we recently put a remus on my buddied GT2. It sounds awesome. At that track (where a bunch of porches were running) a good many people commented that it was by far the best sounding porsche they had ever heard. Of course, he's making over 600hp with decenyt boost, so that helps too... but we were happy with both the sound and build quality of the remus. dw

POST 8Original post

StatiX, The FILES section here as I pointed out before has video/audio of the AWE in different configurations. Also you might PM or Email Mike from AWE who is a member here asking him for the clip and letting him know you can't hear it on their website. PorschePlayer, Overpriced? by what measure? I haven't seen Remus first hand, I haven't seen how it installs, I haven't seen what materials they use, and I haven't seen it on a dyno. I could be plastic for all I know...

POST 9Original post

I've put expensive aftermarket systems on cars and seen a loss in power. Exhaust science is just that, science. Based on my experience, I would be hesitant to go through the trouble and expense of putting an exhaust system on a car without being sure that it will be better than stock. Wouldn't it be cool if there was a place where someone would document the collective experiences of other Cayman owners who have modified their cars? Think about it. We could collect dyno runs, installation experiences, personal opinions and customer satisfaction information all in one place. Hey, wait a second. There is such a place. I think it's called the www.CaymanClub.net .....! Sorry man. Just being a wise $#@..... If you want to know what exhaust system to buy, you've come to the right place. Take a look at some of these posts and articles: http://www.planet-9.com/showthread.php?t=6721 http://www.planet-9.com/showthread.php?t=7419 http://www.planet-9.com/showthread.php?t=7018 http://www.planet-9.com/showthread.php?t=5377 http://www.planet-9.com/showthread.php?t=6321

POST 10Original post

Good response Gator Bite! We've put a lot of work into documenting several exhaust systems for our members here and will continue to do so as opportunities present themselves. I will, of course, point members to systems that we've tested and documented before I point them to someone else who we know nothing about and who is not a site sponsor. Site sponsors have earned the right to be mentioned first and considered first because of their support of this site. If we had no sponsors likely we'd have no site and thus there would be no resource for information like this. When users come in and start making great claims about some other non-sponsor system I don't know if they are getting paid to do so by some company that wants to try to get business through the back door without supporting the site, or the user just hasn't done their research yet among the systems we've already covered. Since our sponsors have offered discounts on their systems to our members it would only stand to reason that if a user was looking at some non-sponsors system that their first thought should be "hey if they become a Cayman Club sponsor maybe I can get a discount on this system". If someone is talking to Remus or Kreissieg or anyone else feel free to give them my info (or give me their info) and/or point them to www.planet-9.com/?page=advertise and see if they'd like to become a sponsor as well. It is a win-win, they get exposure on the site and our members get all of the details on their system as opposed to relying on someone else's brothers cousins friend who knows someone's recommendation.

POST 11Original post

Good point on the sponsor's support of the site. Also, to me, if a company is willing to become a site sponsor that also says they aren't afraid to put their money where their mouth is. Anyone can claim great sound and power gains. But putting the products into the hands of a group like this is real risky if you can't really deliver on those claims. This group will praise a product that they love, but at the same time they won't hesitate to fry a product that doesn't measure up.

POST 12Original post

I agree on one level, but while its easy for certain companies to become a site sponser, its not always possible for all companies to do this. a very large company that makes thousands of different applications isn't going to run around the net sponsoring every enthusiast forum for every application just to "put their money where their mouth is", Remus, tubi, BBS, H&R, companies like this simply could not care. Yet members should still be allowed to discuss, compare and promote their products if we have had good or bad personal experiences with them. Heck, PCNA isn't a site sponsor yet we all promote their products....advertising and promoting site sponsor's products first is one thing, but this shouldn'y preclude members from discussong more than just these limited products. Just as the payment of adversiment fees should never yield positive review or promotion of crap products. at least those are my personal thoughts on the subject...

POST 13Original post

Davew, Perhaps I should clarify that while other products can be discussed they cannot be promoted without the vendor being a sponsor. All of the vendors listed thus far could easily become a sponsor, in fact if you didn't know it already the sponsorship rates here are probably 1/10th what they are on a site like the S2000 site or ********, so someone who doesn't sponsor here probably doesn't have their head in the game if given the opportunity. We don't promote "crap" products, but we do promote products that have been through testing and for which we've had positive experiences and which are supplied by the sponsors to this site. We have not precluded the discussion of other products here, but we don't "promote" them unless they are a sponsor and have earned that right. So if someone mentions a new product and I ask "are they willing to consider being a sponsor" or "have you talked to them about becoming a sponsor?" it is because I think there is a benefit for the vendor, for this site, and for our members here in them doing so. I hope that clarifies things for you. Thanks,

POST 14Original post

BTW I also disagree that it isn't possible for all companies selling products to become a sponsor here, even 1 man operations like ultimate pedals have become sponsors.

POST 15Original post

hahaha thats true .. nobody use remus before, thats why i wonder if anybody in this forum had them instaled . the quality and stuff i'm not sure either. not really over priced, but out of budget hahahaha

POST 16Original post

Actually there are several one man operations I know of that are sponsors… Ralph T. Boothe of "Boothe Designes", Larry of "Moweraxle" and Robert of stated "Ultimate Pedals". zornet

POST 17Original post

My point was actually the opposite. Its not the small companies that have trouble sponsoring, its the VERY large ones. Corporate bureaucracy, red tape, and budget constriants, combined with a wider market focus means thay have no interest in sponsoring web forums of anykind. Your simply not going to get a company like Remus, BBS, H&R, etc.. to buy banner space here. They rather drop big dollars into motorsports and hit a bigger audience. That does not mean they are not putting their money where their mouths are, or standing behind their products. My second point was that the line between "promoting" and "asserting a positive opinion" isn't always very clear, and 100% cut and dry. If I find a product I really like and which works really well for me, I want to be able to share that enthusiastically without crossing the line into promotion of a non-sponsor item. Just like most of us do with the cayman itself.... dw

POST 18Original post

davew, That's why we have moderators to help define the line between promoting and asserting a positive opinion. Promoting typically involves pointing people to a vendor to buy the product from or doing something that would directly take away a sale from a sponsor and send it to a non-sponsor, for example: "Dude don't buy that AWE exhaust because XYZ is Sooo much better, what are you a chump? Here's the info you need to get XYZ" as opposed to "I installed XYZ, here are some photos, I really like the sound of the exhaust!" We certainly allow the latter but would frown upon the former. If I need to send you back to moderator school to spot the differences let me know. Seriously, if there is an item in question raise it to me and the other moderators and we can make a decision on it. Apologies for misunderstanding your reference to larger or smaller companies becoming sponsors. We have some very large ones too.

POST 19Original post

I see the problem as follows, Posters should be able to say negative things about any product they like, even if it's a site sponsor product. As soon as any information becomes contradictory to the views and intrests of the blokes who help pay the bills, and views can’t be aired I'd see this as a major downside to any website, its freedom of speech. You must know what I mean, you Yanks invented it after all. I think everyone who uses this site appreciates the large amount of time and effort you put in K-man, but I wouldn’t let the site get too corporate, allowing the curtailment of open views and debate is a very slippery slope.

POST 20Original post

No one said you cannot air negative view of sponsor products, what was said in another thread was that if you needlessly bash a sponsor that's not allowed, if you approach them in a civil and adult fashion that's fine.

POST 21Original post

A few personal considerations before I decided on AWE. 1. Price (Pretty good compared to my second choice Tubi) 2. Sound clips 3. Added power claims (Butt Dyno confirmed claims) 4. AWE balance pipe technology makes common sense (I have not observed any weird noises) 5. Mounts like OEM 6. Uses OEM tips. (Found chrome tips on eBay for $325) 7. Clean looking install (AWE Sucks up under bumper better than OEM) Not that it helps much but I believe Remus manufactured the exhaust for my Audi TT 3.2 It sounded very nice. Whether it sounds nice on a flat 6? I don’t know. Good Luck with your choice.

POST 22Original post

the problem is .. there is no remus sound clip available. i think i like redrocket's speed art sounds. i'll re consider it again .

POST 23Original post

Sound Clip So I have a Remus in transit to be mounted in the next week so if I do a video/audio clip will I be allowed to upload for everyone to make their own opinion then? For the record, I heard a Remus on a 911 in person and it reminded me of a Tubi with more throat.

POST 25Original post

Wow talking about dredging up an old post and getting entirely the wrong impressions... Zobisch - Of course you can upload the Remus sound clip in the Files section, if you check the file section currently there are sound clips and videos from other non-sponsor exhausts. Kaimen::S - There is no curtailment of views here, what was originally said was that "needless bashing" of sponsors or anyone's products or that matter isn't allowed. By that we mean unfounded complaints such as "Exhaust X is a piece of ##*()#@!" without any other explanation. If you have a legitimate beef of course it should be aired, just look at what we did with regard to the Orton supercharger and they were a sponsor and they were suspended.

POST 26Original post

Remus Exaust I listened to them all and Researched about 4 different Types of Exaust and I will tell you if you dont get the Remus you will never know what you missed out on.I was with all my porsche buddies 2 weeks ago and we all have a different Exaust on our caymans (All of the ones listed in this thread) The Remus Kick all their Butts in every category !! Just makes me want to drive ALL THE WAY TO VEGAS!!!!!!

POST 27Original post

I think folks would like to know the following: 1) Dyno before and after results 2) Cost - and any specials for our members? are they willing to become a sponsor and offer specials? 3) Resonance between 2000 and 3000 rpm 4) Sound clips 5) Visuals on install Perhaps if you do bring it to Las Vegas some of those could be answered...

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
