Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Hi everyone, I'm a first time Porsche owner. I have a question, I bought an 07 certified Cayman S from my local Porsche dealer this past memorial day wknd. I've barely driven it because I intend to keep the miles low. I've always had to replace the air in the left front, and thought it was no big deal because the salesmen told me when I bought it that was something I may regularly have to do to the tires in general. Upon further inspection because it is now really low all the time, I see that I have a bulge in the tire on my left front. I haven't run over anything and my rim isn't bent to indicate that I did. It seems to me the tire should not have been cleared: 1. I'm wondering if the tires are covered in the certified program. 2. Is this a legit gripe or should I chalk this up to buyer beware and I'll know better next time? thanks in advance for any who reply

I know that they have a checklist they go by to determine if a car can be certified. I imagine that you can find that checklist online somewhere. I would get a copy of that and see if tires are something that is included on the checklist. Porsche sure make it sound like a car needs to be in "like new" condition to be certified. I would think a tire that can't be used should be covered.

POST 3Original post

Tires are definitely part of the CPO inspection. In fact if all 4 tires are not Porsche approved "N" rated, it won't pass. In any event, try to work with the dealer. If the tire had no visible damage upon delivery and no nail in it, it could've just passed the inspection. But since you noticed since day one there was an issue and mentioned it, you have a bit more leverage. Be courteous with the service manager / salesperson and hopefully they step up for you.

PistolPete, LA Boy Thanks, good advice. It is on my checklist; I just wanted to get a sanity chk & make sure broaching the subject was not unreasonable. I'll give them a call and see what happens.
