I'm on vacation and accidentally left my lights on. I came back to the car the next morning and found that the remote unlock didn't work. The valet told me my lights were left on. I tried to manually unlock the car door by putting the key in, but it won't unlock either. I called Porsche roadside assistance and the service they sent out cannot open the door with a reach tool & wedge. Any suggestions on how to get my car open? Anyone else have problems with the manual door unlock not working? Thanks in advance.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. I don't have a fix for you, but the headlights have kind've irked me since I bought the car. My Toyota Tacoma automatically turns off the headlights when I open the door after killing the ignition. Why hasn't Porsche incorporated something like this? For what we pay for these cars, simple things like auto-shutoff headlights should be assumed.
That is very odd... is there absolutely no release regardless of which way you turn the key? That's very worrying at least from a safety standpoint...And yes, one of many little things that Porsche needs to correct. I still feel strongly that the steering wheel needs to have the cruise control on it as in BMWs/MINIs, etc. I can't for the life of me understand why Porsche tries to simplify the wheel to such a degree that it complicates the overall usage of the instruments/controls.
Sorry this happened, as I can picture it as a nightmare on vacation. If you could be so kind as to let us know how it got sorted out? I was away for two weeks and the key did open the door? Why a key (mechanical item) would not work seems a bit hard to comprehend, unless one of the fitted blanks ended up being mismatched at the factory(or by a dealer) but still programmed .
