Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.
Discussions that report identifying a cause

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: '2000 c4' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is '2000 c4' (1 discussions; 1 report identifying it and 0 suggest it). No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Wow, I had fun today. I drove a 2002 C2 Coupe, a 2000 C4 Millenium, and a 2002 C4 cab. It was very instructive as to the differences between the cars. I didn't think I would be able to tell the difference between the 2002 and the 2000, but I was wrong. The 2002 definitely gives you more of a "kick in the pants" when you hit the gas. Not to say the 2000 is slow, it's damn fast
but the 2002 just seems quite different. I drove the C2 coupe first, and after driving it, the 2000 sounded downright silent. I definitely love the new exhaust. The suspension felt more or less the same, but I am no race driver. This brings me to my question. The [edit: 2000 millenium] C4 had incredibly stiff steering. I have never driven a car with steering this stiff. While driving it, I was thinking "damn, oh well I guess I won't consider a C4 then" because it was just so stiff. I took the car back to the dealership, and I was told (used car department, much less knowledgeable than the one I was speaking with in new cars) told me that it was all caused by the tires. The rear tires were damn near corded (they told me "when someone buys it, we will fix them") and they said that it would be almost like the C2 after that. I can't believe that is the case. Could it be power steering fluid?? I left the used car dept still confused, and decided to drive a new C4 for comparison. All I had to do is drive out of the lot and could tell that the steering was nearly the same as the C2. There haven't been any changes in the steering of C4's since 2000 have there? I was impressed with it, it seemed even more like "driving on rails" than in the C2. Any ideas on what was wrong with the 2000?
Sorry for rambling... I haven't driven a 996 in a while and I'm still a little giddy (daily driver is boring). Hopefully I will be able to get one within a few months
Did you say the '02 C4 Cab tires were gone already? Something's up with that. I would not go near that car without having another Porsche tech from a different dealership go over that car. How many miles are on it?
And from my experience, the C4 should not be that far off from the C2 unless something's been modified.
