Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I had my 996C4 done at the tyre dealer (STS TyrePros) at the same time as they fitted my new PZeros.
Leading evidence: 'Install pzeros' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Install pzeros' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Suggestion
Chris spent over an hour examining my existing set up looking at the tyre wear to see my driving style and see how he could maximise grip under all conditions, make more contact patch available for cornering as I was not using all the available rubber, and maximise the contact patch for braking and accelerating, this is not done from any 'OE' setting its tailoring the car for you, and its worth every penny!

Suggestion
They obviously work within tolerances rather than to exact measurements but for ordinary use I took the view that this must be better than nothing.

Many on here will tell you that you must have a 911 done at a specialist which I can understand if money is no object and/or your car is used regularly on a track.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I am considering getting my suspension set-up by OPC given I've had new tyres fitted to my 996 C2 Facelift and as a recent purchase I don't know when it was last done. There are no outward signs of problems but apparently it should be done every 2 years or so. Question is whether it''s worth the money or wait until it is noticeably out (i.e. pulling to one side). Esp as it's a £200 plus....
Thoughts?

I had my 996C4 done at the tyre dealer (STS TyrePros) at the same time as they fitted my new PZeros. The equipment they used was the Corghi laser set up that you find in many mainstream dealer workshops. They obviously work within tolerances rather than to exact measurements but for ordinary use I took the view that this must be better than nothing.
The check was free but I knew in advance that any adjustments required would cost £20 each.
The readings showed that one rear wheel was way out and that two others were just outside of the manufacturers tolerances.
For £60 I got a car that tracks dead straight at any speed I've yet tried and handles far better than it ever did before. I'm sure that most of this will have been down to the new tyres but as far as I'm concerned it was £60 well spent and £140 saved.
Not really 'like for like' to be honest, book the car into a decent tyre place with a Hunter or similar and they'll check to OE settings and return the car to them should they be out but they have no experience beyond that.
Book into see Chris Franklin at Center Gravity and prepare to be amazed at his work ethic and absolute quest for perfection!

The car was completely transformed after Chris had finished he turned my 996T from feeling 'soft' to feeling sharper and more responsive than my previous car which was an Exige, something I did not belive possible with a car weighing 600kg more, but Chris spend nearly 5 hours on my car tuning it till he was happy!
So one's an 'off the peg' one size fits all geo, and the others completely bespoke for you based on your car and your driving style by one of the most knowledgable Porsche handling experts in the world, Is one worth a couple of hundred pounds over the other... Yes!
Yes very worthwhile on any Porsche. Its not so much about alignment as otehrs have pointed at but the geometry set up. You will get much better handling, corner at speed safer, be more surefooted especially in the winter, get it set to your dirving style, etc etc.
IMHO whilst an OPC can do a good job its a better all round experience taking your car to a specialist that you can talk to and get a better overall assessment ... you can get into the workshop and see for yourself and get them to talk through it.
I need mine done too and have heard nothing but the utmost praise for Center Gravity.
There's a recent about them post on here that someone will direct you too I'm sure (cos I cant find it!)....
:thumb:
Thanks all - useful feedback - will probably let the OPC do it as it is in for a couple of other minor fixes at same time and they are quoting me a 'bargain' price...hmmmmm
I think point is given it's got 4 brand new boots on and I don't know when it was last done it sounds like a sensible option.....
Will let you know if I notice any difference!
Cheers
I hope Chris is as good as everyone says....he goe'd my 996t in Oct (it had felt wayward during a recent hol in Scotland) and the geo was out. Somehow following the geo it was left with a terrible viration ( )above 70 ( :cop: )..... which Chris acknowledged wasn't there when the car was brought to him....
.....the car is now back with him to resolve... :dont know:
...I'll update when I get the car back!
