Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I can't see how this is accident related...always good to have everything checked over in and out after an accident though.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Anybody have any brilliant ideas on this one: Two days ago I was rear-ended (low speed, 15 mph). The only visible damage was that my bumper is dented; the spoiler also doesn't come down 100% (maybe about 96%). Already called the auto-body shop and they're going to look at it Monday. Yesterday I went through an automatic carwash. Today I make a 4 hour roadtrip with the AC cranked way up. In the midafternoon I smelled and noticed the entire passenger side carpet is soaked with clear fluid!?!?! So what caused the water to buildup: is it my accident? is the A/C? is it the carwash? Any help appreciated.

POST 2Original post

Have you tasted it? Are you certain it is water? Condensation seems like the likely culprit. Search car talk for this problem. I've seen it before, but I don't recall the precise physics issue here or the remedy. I can't see how this is accident related...always good to have everything checked over in and out after an accident though. That allows you to make insurance claims.

POST 3Original post

As unlikely as it maybe it's possible that your door frame is not seating properly after the accident and allowed the water from the car wash in. Alternatively it could be a completely seperate issue with your AC, as the core is somewhere over at the front. The fact your spoiler does not come down 100% suggests a little more than just your bumper damage, and so defiantely get it all checked out by the bodyshop to make sure it's not all related.

POST 4Original post

I had water in the passenger footwell from AC condensation a few years ago. The dealer took apart the whole area under the glovebox to check things out. The problem hasn't returned yet. Just a wild guess here, but maybe the impact managed to knock loose a drain hose used to route this water... Good luck with the dealer!
