Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi guys, Hoping that someone can help me out here. Last night while putting the window back up, I heard what sounded like some plastic cracking/ breaking, and as a result the window no longer moves with the window switch. I had to pull it up by hand so i didnt get a soaked interior. :x The motor is stll working (i can hear it), but no moevment in the window. I had a similar problem on my S3, which turned out to e a plastic clip that locates the window to the motor cable. I'm thinking it is probably a similar issue here, but wanted to know if anyone had ideas, and if there is a common issue that I have experiened. Its a 1999 C2 just in case it matters... Nay advice on what it could be, and or advice on repairs (hopefully by me) woul be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help guys, Nuri

POST 2Original post

It's the window regulator (cable/track mechanism) that is most likely your problem. It is very common for the cables to break.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the heads up Richard. I'll be taking a look tomorrow but at least this way i can know what to expect. I wonder if you can advise how hard a task it is to change it? Thanks,

POST 4Original post

Not too bad a job. Take a look at tb's excellent DIY on door card removal. Once you get it off, it is all fairly obvious. Unclamp the glass and undo the regulator tracks. Note that the bottom mounts are slotted, to give some adjustment in-out, and the height adjusters adjacent to the glass clamps.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
