Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Leading evidence: 'Check pelican parts and rentech, no help' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'leak was not oil per se' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Check pelican parts and rentech, no help' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

So I ended up replacing the manifold gasket from Porsche dealer ($21.00) and ordered Helicoil to repair the stripped thread.

Burning oil at that location, my first thought was spark plug tube and seals, I changed them out with new tubes and seals.

Used tube and seals from pelican parts, and brought the Porsche grease for $40 to lube them

Suspected cause
While I'm glad the new gasket and Helicoil have eliminated the leak sign, I suspect the leak was not oil per se but the junk that arises from combustion or improper combustion say at cold start.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1999, 911 C2 Cab. When I stored the car in Nov I noticed a leak at/around the tranny oil cooler. The fluid was dark (not sure of exact color) and really sticky. I suspect the o-ring seals as the culprits, could also be the cooler itself? Has anyone done this repair or do you know of any repair procedures? Checked Pelican Parts and Rentech, no help. I'll put the car up on the rack in a couple of weeks to get a closer look, sure would be cool if I knew step 1, 2, 3, etc. for fixing it. Thanks in advance for your help!
1999 Porsche 911 996. This has been killing me. I have an oil leak at the base of exhaust manifold. Burning oil at that location, my first thought was spark plug tube and seals, I changed them out with new tubes and seals. Still same issue, my cam covers are dry and I can't find it leaking anywhere else. Been searching all different forums and no luck. Please help. I attached picture, this only on the passager side. Drivers side is dry.
Did I messed up the install? Used tube and seals from pelican parts, and brought the Porsche grease for $40 to lube them

Yes I did.. I pulled the manifold and discovered that one of the bolts was stripped in the thread... So I ended up replacing the manifold gasket from Porsche dealer ($21.00) and ordered Helicoil to repair the stripped thread.
After installing everything back and running the engine and driving .. No more leaks. I thought someone earlier had said No oil is running near there?

Generally exhaust header bolts are not required to thread into areas where oil is as the bolts would heat up from the exhaust manifold and cook the oil.
While I'm glad the new gasket and Helicoil have eliminated the leak sign, I suspect the leak was not oil per se but the junk that arises from combustion or improper combustion say at cold start. A combination of some oil, un-burned fuel, and water vapor. These condense out of the exhaust gases and become liquid -- after a fashion -- again, and it was those that looked like an oil leak.
