My sales person did say that a solution was to use the turbo wheels instead, but I really prefer the new Carrera wheels instead because they are a new look that distinguishes the 02 from earlier models.

I got a call today from my dealer indicating that 02 996 orders are being delayed because of a shortage of the new 5-spoke lightweight carrera wheels. Does anyone have any information on this or how long the delays might be? My car was a November build. Thanks in advance

They haven't delayed the orders, there just simply throwing other wheels they have in stock on the cars (turbo's, rad's, etc). They are having a supplier problem with the 18" Carrera wheels. Hopefully your salesperson was mistaken. Good luck and hope your driving soon.

What is the word on when the supplier problem will be resolved? Do you know if it is a underforecast of demand shortage or is it a quality problem?
