Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.
Discussions that report identifying a cause
1
0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'tubes leaking (my bad:-))' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'tubes leaking (my bad:-))' (1 discussions; 1 report identifying it and 0 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Check carpet' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Would suggest cleaning your drains and checking carpet for moisture as a priority.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi everybody,
Time to introduce myself.
Just finished importing my 996 from the Netherlands.1998 with 176000km. With some work need doing.
Was looking for a 911 that would stand out in the crowd and bummed in to this gorgeous 996 in the arena red from the 993.
Had my doubts about the color, because in the pictures it was a "meh" reaction.
Went for a 3h drive with my daughter to see it and once I got there I fell in love with the color. Its real hard to get this color as is on a picture.
Drove it on export plates for a week and what a car!
What are my plans?
Bring it up to 2024 specs audio wise.
Change the IMS and RMS and leaky valve cover.
Full service with all filters and spark plugs.
Service the hydraulic pump for the roof.
Change the window regulator.
Front pumps.
The right seat is not working like it should.
And last but not least new tires.
Congrats, the red and the amber shouldn't work, but it works really well!
As you probably already now, the IMS is dual row, and on the 1999s is known to last forever.
The amber "early builds" are great, congrats on joining the club! I got mine at 99k (miles), and I drive it like it like it was meant. That solved the small leak I had going on. Usually the spark plug tubes leak, or yes RMS. But high rpms seems to be the quick and easy fix for it!
One other quick thing you can do is replace the engine mounts. It's a very easy DIY. Mine were majorly drooping (you can tell by the distance of exhaust tips under bumper cut outs).
Congratulations, beautiful color. Arena Red and Forest Green and my favorite colors on the 996 -- but I will try to appreciate my current Artic Silver (it won't make sense trading just for a different the color).
So I started work on the 996. Almost everything is done.
Only needs new tires and then I can make an appointment to pass inspection and register it.
I need to look in to the radio, I bought a adaptor but no sound.
Found a lot online but not realy a clear write up. (this always hapens to me when I want to install an aftermarket radio, still have not learned from it.
)
Comes with carplay because I make my own routes and that way I dont have to look at a small phone screen
.
I hope to get it finished by the end of the month.
Changed out the faulty window regulator.
New radio, not a good pic but I like the way it looks.
No leaks but not enough oil so top is now fixed.
Road trip stuff:-).
That is the same radio I installed in my Arena Red 996. The hardest part of the install was getting the camera feed from the tail end to the head end. This body does not like being folded up for very long nowadays. The folding isn't bad, but the unfolding is not good.
