I have run as low as 91, currently use 93, I think you will be fine with most premium where you live, what is the octane rating in your area.
Leading evidence: 'Use 93, i think you will be fine' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Recommend against octane boosters' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Suggestion
You might lose a little max power under some conditions running < 93.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Just purchased my first
Porsche
, a 2011
Boxster
. My question is can I use E85 in it? I can't seem to find an answer to this. Thank you

Read the manual?
My 2010 manual says nothing more than 10% ethanol (aka E10). I can't imagine these cars will accept E85 unless they explicitly say so. Why are you considering E85 anyway?
If you can’t get the octane you need where you are you can find octane boosters (additives) at your local automotive supply store that you can add during a fill-up. They’re just additives at the pump anyway.
I would recommend against octane boosters. The only ones that work contain MMT, which is bad for your engine (and
Porsche
specifically says not to use it in the manual). The boosters that don't contain MMT don't do anything significant.
Note that a "point" on the bottle of octane
booster
is 0.1 octane. So "Boosts octane up to 5
points
!" means you get, at best, +0.5 octane. Maybe.
The stock tuning on a 987 can't really take advantage of gas with over 93 octane anyway. It'll run perfectly fine on 91 octane if that's all you can get (and that's all we can get here in California).
If it was practical, I would run E85 in my cars. It is more expensive and not always available. I did use it for 3 years in a Corvette. and it burns very clean. No spark knock at all. The down side was driving 15 miles out of my way to fill up. Also, making sure I could get it on a road trip. I always had a gas tune ready so I could switch if needed.
While I have great disdain for corn in my gas jugs in the barn (small gas motors), I'm finally at peace with a little in my cars/trucks.
And with the Ford 3.5
Ecoboost
platform, I now have a bit of envy for those that can purchase E85 with ease. That kind of motor design can really leverage the corn content with amazing results. Very safely too, if tuned properly.
My
987.1
2.7 will simply live on top tier 93 E10. Pretty much a perfect match for its fuel palette.

Again, I ask, why are you looking for higher octane? If you're experiencing knock, then sure... but if you're not, then 91 is fine. Higher octane doesn't give you more performance unless there is a problem.
Did not
Porsche
design and engineer these cars to run on 93 ? And the
ECU
has some ant- knock tweaks, it switches to when it detects knocking? This must come at some expense? Nothing is free.
It is all in the
987.2
manual. Note that AKI is the pump octane number used in the US so those are the values you should refer to.
