Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

http://986forum.com/forums/diy-project-guides/56773-3rd-party-keyless-entry-diy-why-not.html My 986 has no remote key. After installing this cheap 3rd party keyless, I decided to swap into Porsche shaped remote! Looks like 3rd party remote PCB can fit in to new style OEM Porsche Key. Kinda straight forward job, but need a Dremel tool to make this done easier. Comparing Keys. Purchased Porsche remote key at $22.97 with shipping. Dissemble Porsche shaped key. Use Dremel to grind them to fit 3rd party remote PCB! Rubber switch needs to be extended. You can use 3rd party remote's rubber and glue them. After assemble them, there are little gaps at the middle. I could get rid of that gaps, but decided to use like this. Red LED location seems okay! Unlock button is Lock on 3rd party remote PCB and Lock button is Unlock. But better shape!
