Suggestion

She only weighs about 100lb and the airbag turned off in the Boxster we test drove but not in the Cayman so I won't have tocarry bricks to weight her down!

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

I knew it would be here any day but hadn't received the call yet. Just happened to stop by the dealer and there it was, still covered with whiteplastic and foam. They even had to pull a special lever at the top of the hood to start it as it hasn't been prepped yet. Took a couple of pics with my fiance' (who thought it looks hot), sat in it andthen let them have it bakc to get it ready for me to pick up this afternoon!!!!/fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/dance.gif I did see the carbon fiber trim for the first time - looks great!!!

POST 2Original post

'just happened to stop by the dealer' Carbon who do you think your fooling??? Looking forward to seeing the pictures of the carbon.

POST 3Original post

I concur, the randomness of the stop is suspect, but glad you are getting the car and yes we want to see pics!

POST 5Original post

Craig, I saw your car today and it looked beautiful! Who decided to remove the lower front clip center piece? It looked like a good job. I couldn't tell if the piece had been snapped out or was cut. The Cayman Club members will want to see this. Pretty Interesting. The 19 inch Sport Design Wheels are stunning! Later in the afternoon, after a trip up and down PCH, I came down into Dana Point Harbor on Golden Lantern - this has to be ocean reveals there is. Enjoy!

POST 6Original post

Do show us some pics of this center piece Craig! Thanks in advance, Russ

POST 7Original post

Congrats on the carbon cayman !!!! Enjoy it's great.... Patch

POST 8Original post

Thanks for the congrats guys!!! Ok, ok I was there dropping off my loan and credit app. at the last minute and you knowwww.........just thought it might be there./fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/teeth_smile.gif Dealer thought I had been tipped off by someone at Cayman Club because I knew the ship it was on before them, etc. Now, removed what??? Not me, I don't know what you're talking aboutabout, but by the way you described it, itsounds like it might be something good? I'm going to the garage right now but I'll tell you a couple impressions first. First of all it's my first Porsche and sports car. I'm really happy with my specs, the car looks unbelievable, and it drives and sounds incredible! I didn't leave the dealer 'til after 7 p.m. and haven't driven a manual in years so honestly I wasn't totally comfortable. I took my fiance', Ladan, for a little test drive first because she was going to have to drive my old Jeep home. She loves it, especially the heated seats!! She only weighs about 100lb and the airbag turned off in the Boxster we test drove but not in the Cayman so I won't have tocarry bricks to weight her down! Took it down PCH to the 5 Fwy and thenOrtega Hwy, a nice twistie road. I took it pretty easy butit takes turns postedat 30 mphgoing 60 mph and just wants more! Keeping it under 4000 is almost impossible! I do have one issue. I don't know if I need to adjust something on the AC or what? Temp. outside was high 40's, twoof us in the car, onewith heated seats, and I had to press the defrost every several minutes to keep the windows clear which was pretty distracting and at one point making a left back onto the freewaythe side window on the drivers side had become really foggy and visibility in the turn was not good! The fan is pretty strong on the defrost so it's not something you want to have going full time. Anyways I have to play with that and see if I canfigure out what a 'lower front clip' is. Pics to follow soon!

POST 9Original post

Congratulations Carbon Cayman. I really hope you post your pictures very very very soon/fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/drive.gif

POST 10Original post

Craig, It sounds like your AC was not turned on last night, this would explain the window fogging. Today you will have some time to familiarize yourselfwith the settings for the radio and Heating/AC. Have a fun day with your new beautiful Cayman. Edited by - mpollard on 01/29/2006 08:16:40 AM

POST 11Original post

Mpollard, yea I just wanted to get in and drive, I'll play with the AC I couldn't find the lower front clip? You wouldn't be pulling my leg would you?

POST 12Original post

I think he is referring to the Tiptronic radiator grille opening. (I have a separate post in the Cayman Mods section about this)

POST 13Original post

Take a picture of the front of your car and post. Then we can be sure about what we are talking about.

POST 14Original post

CC, We have the same problem in completely different climates. My front wondow was fogging on the outside and I finally changed one of the settings and it stopped. I think I had the inside temperature a lot lower than the outside and I had that cold air blowing up on the inside of the window, once I changed the setting to blow straight out only on me it stopped. FWIW Russ

POST 15Original post

I noticed last time I was at dealer that the cars with Tiptronic had the cooler in the center without the black plug there. Then I went and looked at the 911 and they were the same way. I haven't looked to see if there is any advantage to traking it out on the manual or not....anyone know???
