Fabspeed Motorsport USA has finished production and development of the ultimate cold air intake performance upgrade/enhancement kit for 996 enthusiasts worldwide. Fabspeed's 996 airbox performance kit has 3 parts that add 25% better induction airflow for the 996 engine that result in more power that you can feel and hear through additional sportcar sound. Parts that are retrofitted to stock 996 airbox: 1) 4 ply RED shiny inside & out silicone specialty hose that connects the airbox directly to the throttlebody. This hose has better internal flow charateristics that the black Porcshe hose--- as it is smoother inside and eliminates the stock OEM Porsche intake muffler. Motorsport red color. Detailed pictures on website visually explain everything. 2) Fabspeed makes a carbon fiber style muffler eliminator block off cap. This part adds 1.5Liters more air volume/capacity for the 996 engine to draw from. In adition, eliminating the muffler allows the engine to suck air across the entire top section of the airbox VERSUS just the right side only. Detailed pictures on website. 3) Fabspeed replaces the MAF screen with a carbon fiber style ring that smooths and accellerates airflow thruogh the mass air sensor. This ring eliminates boundry layer separation and turbulence. In total this is the finest cold air UPGRADE kit for the 996 owner. All you need is a screwdriver and 20 minutes to have more guaranteed power and sportscar sound. Check it out.
