It turned out to be a fuse in the back of the pcm (they took the unit out and changed the fuse).

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi guys, Seem to have lost sound on my sat nav ( 2003 turbo) Had the car 2 months...it certainly worked because I heard the guide once. I was playing around with the pcm and I guess I pushed a button that has muted the sound. Would appreciate any suggestions.. thanks.

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

martinsonline...sorry for stealing your subject as it were

POST 3Original post

Slick17 No problem, sorry to hear you too have problems. My indie has said on a number of occasions that the Becker system fitted as standard was pretty pants and they have junked loads of them over the years. I am a purist and want my car original, so even if I keep ending up in industrial parks, railway car parks and dead ends I will stick with it! I can of course always use the printed word for directions as we all used to do before GPS. Any way good luck I will let you know how I get on with the CD cleaner, your issue may be a setting, have a look through the manual. Good Luck Mart :thumb:

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey Mart, Thanks :thumb: I know I need to spend some time on reading thru the manual..just never enough time to do everything. That's why this is just a great forum..lots of helpful and knowledgeable guys. Hope the cleaner does the trick for you. cheers

POST 5Original post

Hi, Doubt it's related, but I had my car at Porsche Nottingham today as the radio, CD changer and voice of the sat nav were not working. I had already checked the relevant fuse in the footwell and was told by a specialist that it would need a recon unit at £2500+ (!!). It turned out to be a fuse in the back of the pcm (they took the unit out and changed the fuse). I can now listen to The Archers again!

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Imagine that..you were told you would need a recon unit @ £2500 and it was only a fuse. Then you wonder why people don't trust garages and mechanics :x :x :x Thanks for the response gideonhall :thumb:
