Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I wouldn't find it a sleeper unless you painted the brake calipers black (red is a give-away), and you changed the front bumper (also different from base model) and you put non-S wheels on the car, etc.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1Original post

I was thinking for a while of having my Cayman S (waiting 1-2 years, sigh) rebadged to a Cayman (non-S). There will be a (non-S) model (somewhere on the Porsche site had these models listed: 911, *Cayman*, Boxster, *Cayman S*, Carrera GT, Cayenne) Just to make my future Cayman S a 'sleeper.' So what you think?

POST 2Original post

Option 498 'Delete Model Designation' at no charge.

POST 3Original post

I dont think you understand... put it this way... Delete "S" designation.

POST 5Original post

If you took the 'S' off I would laugh, but that's just me. I wouldn't find it a sleeper unless you painted the brake calipers black (red is a give-away), and you changed the front bumper (also different from base model) and you put non-S wheels on the car, etc. etc. I don't really see the reason to do it, but if you want to, go for it!

POST 6Original post

You sure Porsche is going to change all that...just look at Boxster/S, they appear same. I dunno, I'll wait for the Cayman no S to make my decision? This is just a thought and nothin but...

POST 7Original post

Yes every difference I cited is the same for the Boxster vs. Boxster S as well, and will surely be the same for Cayman vs. Cayman S.

POST 8Original post

Haha...a porsche sleeper? It's a porsche....kinda hard to make it a sleeper. When I think sleeper, I think audi S4 with the badge removed. Or VW GTI with the GTI removed. I don't think the Cayman without the S is CONSIDERABLY under-performing for people to think it'll be slow.

POST 9Original post

I guess it only works if you downgrade a 911 Turbo to a base Carrera huh?
